It’s Christmas day for pro football fans. The National Football League season starts tonight when the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens play at Denver. Usually the Super Bowl champs get to host the opening game, but the Orioles are in town, so Baltimore is booked.
I don’t have any real NFL allegiances other than to former EIU star Tony Romo. EIU folk have to stick together. (Did you know that that Saints head coach Sean Payton and
Broncos Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan are EIU grads as well?)
Anyway, since everyone else is doling out their preseason picks, I guess I’ll join the rest of the sheep in the flock.
AFC East — Patriots
AFC North — Bengals
AFC South — Colts
AFC West — Broncos
Wild cards – Ravens, Texans
NFC East — Cowboys
NFC North — Packers

NFC West — 49ers

Feel free to mock these selections in January.
