Anthony Rizzo will try to led the Cubs past the Pirates in tonight’s National League Wild Card game.

Sorry for the lack of posts. October is unofficially murder trial month in the area. This week is being spent mostly in Pike County at trial there. Next week, I will be covering the Steson Crider trial, which is expected to go into the following week. On Oct. 26, Gavin Masters’ trial is scheduled to start. So much time away from the desk doesn’t leave for a lot of blogging time.

As a result, I’m expecting blog posts to be light this month.

By the end of the month, maybe we’ll be talking about a Chicago Cubs World Series championship. Ok, let’s not get too crazy. That said, I do hope the Cubs win the Wild Card game tonight in Pittsburgh. Note, I didn’t say that I was rooting for the Cubs. That’s a different thing entirely.

I would love to see the Armageddon that a Cubs-Cardinals playoff series would bring. The social media drama in these parts would be priceless. Houses and workplaces would be divided.

No matter what, tonight’s game should be a dandy.
