2011-12 SEASON OUTLOOK

Coach: Reno Pinkston (63-24 at West Hancock, fourth season; 437-160 overall, 20th season).
2010-11 record:
17-11
Returning starters:
G Paxton Harmon, Jr.; F Jeremy Ferguson, Sr.
Other returning letterwinners:
G Austin Hardy, Jr.
New faces:
G Parker Gibbs, Jr.; F Ben Sinele, Jr.; G Jesse Espinoza, Jr.; G Koy Dorethy, Jr., F Ryan Morrison, Jr.
Key losses:
F Mac Schlicher, G Seth Pinkston, F Austin Boyer, F Nate Parker.
Outlook:
The Titans relied heavily on the 3-pointer last season. Don’t expect that this year. Pinkston envisions this team as a mixture offensively of seasons past — the Titans should be able to knock down perimeter shots, attack the rim off the dribble and feed the post.
That’s because the Titans have some size to work with and players like Gibbs who are active around the basket.
The challenge will be developing leadership. A lot of that will fall on Harmon’s shoulders. He was the team’s leading scorer last year and has shown the ability to take over offensively. He’ll have to make good decisions and shoot the ball well. The same goes for Hardy, who can extend defenses with his 3-pointers.
