Outlook: There is only one step left.
Each year recently, the Hornets have pushed one round deeper into the postseason, reaching the state semifinals for the first time in school history last season. The challenge now is to repeat that effort and take it one round further. With the skill players returning and a quick, aggressive, physical group of lineman, it’s possible.
“This group understands we want to continue to improve,” Little said.
Little likes the team’s athleticism and speed, and the Hornets have a variety of weapons. Who gets the ball and how many times they touch the ball is the coaching staff’s quandry. Little will rely heavily on Logsdon in the backfield, but there are so many other players capable of being ground gainers that Brown County likely will not produce a 1,000-yard back once again despite being one of the area’s top rushing teams.
Sheppard moves from tight end to quarterback and possesses a big arm, quick feet and a good feel for the game. He’ll provide quality leadership, along with an experienced senior class.
