Pratt-Burgtorf duel may have set tone for the week

June 29, 2009 11 Comments

We can only hope the rest of the week at the Bullring matches Sunday night’s excitement. The Keith Pratt-Mark Burgtorf 50-lap late model feature shootout was an amazing race to witness, and the standing ovation by the crowd of more than 2,000 illustrated that point.    Pratt led all 50 laps with Burgtorf in hot […]

No monster season in the works means victory records look safe

June 27, 2009 0 Comments

For the first time in years, there is no specific driver making an all-out assault on any of the Bullring single-season victory records. June 22, 2009 0 Comments

Today’s talking points: — Jason Frankel’s late model feature victory Sunday at the Bullring kept fast-charging Lonnie Bailey at arm’s length in the battle for the second place in the Stevie Dirt Regional Rankings. Mark Burgtorf continues to build a cushion at No. 1, which should come as no surprise, considering he’s already won 10 […]

Leading points does not guarantee leading money

June 19, 2009 0 Comments

I noticed something the other day I thought you might find interesting. Leading the points race does not necessarily translate into winning the most money — and vice versa. Only one of the four series points leaders also has the biggest bank account. Here’s a look at the Bullring’s top money earners so far in […]
