Rain KOs Lee County, champions are set

Rain has again forced cancellation of a Friday night program at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa. As a result, the season point totals are final and the track champions are set:

Late models: Mark Burgtorf. (This is Burgtorf’s first late model crown at Lee County since 1999.)
Stock cars: Jeff Mueller. (Jason Cook and Abe Huls tied for second.)
Modifieds: Josh Foster. (Rich Smith was five points behind.)
Hobby stock: Derek St. Clair. (Jim Lynch finished seven back.)
Wild thing: Dakota Fenton.
Sport Mod: Roger Dresden. (Phillip Cossel was two points behind.)

The rainout is Lee County’s eighth of the season.

    Congrats to Mark for claiming the win up in Iowa. Wish the rain wouldn’t have came we wanted to go see it. Hard to believe the end of the season is here. Good job to everyone! Can’t wait for Sunday, I am sure it is going to be a great night of racing!!
