Stock car points official

August 31, 2009 1 Comment

Kevin Tomlinson has been awarded last-place feature points following Sunday night’s post-feature disqualification for not having a muffler. The disqualification cost Tomlinson the stock car championship.

Tomlinson had filed a protest with the IMCA following the DQ, but the ruling was upheld. There had been a question whether Tomlinson would then receive last-place feature points or zero points. The IMCA ruled he should receive last-place points.

If Tomlinson had received zero points, he would have finished third, instead of second.

Here’s how the final top 10 stock car leaders look:

1. Abe Huls, 610 points CHAMPION
2. Kevin Tomlinson, 605
3. Terry Houston, 593
4. Andrew Griffin, 566
5. Michael Larsen, 564
6-tie. Aaron Brocksieck, 563
6-tie. Chris Wibbell, 563
8. Doug Huls, 546
9-tie. Steve Steinkuhler, 541
9-tie. Jerry Jansen, 541
