What’s your favorite special event?

qrlogo2What’s your favorite special event at the Bullring? Here’s your chance to vote.

We’ve posted what I think are probably the four top in-season specials with the UMP Summernationals and Deery Brother Summer Series tour stops for the late models, plus the Tri-State Shootout for stock cars and River City Rumble for the modifieds. Each has its own strong following, so I’m anxious to gauge the online response.

In the just-completed balloting, Lonnie Bailey was picked as the most likely to defend his (late model) track championship over Justin Reed (modifieds), Steve Carlin (hobby stocks) and Abe Huls (stock cars).

Stevie D – how would the promoters feel about setting up a dirt road course for some type of special event? It’d be pretty unique.

Road racing shows which men are really men.

Dirt road racing is that same logic x 10.

That’s a hard one to pick. I went to all of these last year and they were all great shows.

That UMP Summernational race was awesome. Although I felt sorry for the guy who broke down with only a few laps to go.

No one can dislike the Deer Brothers Summer Series no matter where they are.

Modified Rumble on the river was a great race and was glad to see Michael Long take home the big money. After winning a big USMTS not long before it.

I think my favorite would have to be the stock car shootout. It pulled in some really good stock car drivers that raced at Donnellson the night before. They put on one heck of a race. I remember Chris Wibbel FLYING up on the high side passing cars. He was by far the fastest car that night. Got up to 2nd or 3rd and got tangled up in someones wreck.

    Is it Racing season yet?
