Midseason championship race wins not always a good omen
Winning the midseason championship race has not exactly been a harbinger of eventually winning a track title. Consider this: – The last late model driver to win a midseason championship feature and go on to win the track title was back in 2006 when Mark Burgtorf turned the trick. – Only once in the last [...]

Quincy late model drivers continue domination at Iowa tracks
Quincy Raceways regulars could sweep the late model titles — again — at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, and Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa. Justin Reed leads at 34 Raceway, where Bullring drivers have won the last three titles, while Mark Burgtorf tops the points at Lee County, where he is defending champion. Reed [...]
MIDSEASON REPORT: Hobby stocks
The first half of the hobby stock season has been a classic case of a veteran driver trying to ward off a championship challenge from a younger rival: Steve Carlin vs. Bobby Anders. Carlin, a three-time and defending track champ, is seeking to tie Eddie Dieker’s all-time hobby stock record of four titles. Anders, who [...]
