Midseason championships postponed until Wednesday night

Quincy Raceways has postponed Sunday night’s scheduled midseason championships until Wednesday. Racing will start at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

“Mother Nature dumped over two inches of rain on Quincy Raceways on Saturday,” track spokesman Jack Walbring said. “The track conditions can best be described as “soupy” as some flash flooding also occurred, leaving nothing but mud and water standing everywhere.”

The appearance of Kenny Wallace, also scheduled for Sunday night at the track, will be rescheduled if arrangements can be made with Wallace.

The Wednesday makeup will see the pit gates open at 4 p.m., grandstands at 5, drivers meeting at 6:15 and hot laps at 6:30.

The late models and stock cars will not be racing for points, according to Walbring, who said special events for both those classes are scheduled at other IMCA tracks on that date. But the UMP modifieds, hobby stocks and wild things
will be racing for points.

Wish i could go to moberly tonight, but i don’t think the boss would understand, and I couldn’t see the whole show and be back in Quincy by 10:30 to be at work, already have my “sick” days allotted for other races later in the season. And unless things change at work,I won’t be at QR Wednesday night either, just too busy at work to justify missing overtime to be at the track. This weather sucks for sure.

Quick question, any word or any talk at all about making up the USMTS show?? I know that its probably pretty hard to get a new date set and then with all mother nature has thrown at us I wouldnt be surprised but I couldnt help but think about if they are going to make it up or not? I know a lot of our home fries were so excited to get to show them what they got…. Was just hoping they would get their chance… Oh mother nature makes people need SSRIs

Last word last week was both sides were still talking, but no date yet. The rain has everything so screwed up it’s impossible to say when it might be, but keep your fingers crossed.

Dirt Dirt Dirt, Did you hear bour MR Wilson @ Moberly last night. Word on the grapevine is he won in the mods last night. Caution last lap and he ended up beating out Mr Long and that Wallace. Way to go Mr Wilson! And good run Mr Long. Oh at least there’s racing somewhere and the homefries are owning it. WOOT WOOT!

Ok bear with me here Dirt and just push thru the crazy and you’ll soon see how sound my plan is. Now what if sshhh don’t judge yet, what if we had like a super sized circus tent likeish thing and we put it up over the pits and track, and and what if we sand bagged the crick right. Then come race day we just take the tent down and waa-laa racing. Think I have a permanent case of muddle mush from all this rain. Hope it’s not catching.

    It could work
