The final version of the 2013 Quincy Raceways schedule was released Friday, and the UMP late models will be a part of the Sept. 1 lineup.

The first and (unofficial version) of the schedule did not have late models included on the May 26 (Memorial Day weekend) or Sept. 1 (Labor Day weekend) lineups. Both of those shows will have the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) 410 sprint cars.

Track spokesman Jack Walbring said the main reason no late models would be running on May 26 was a $10,000-to-win UMP late model special at Tri-City Speedway near Granite City, Ill. Walbring said track officials felt that kind of purse would lure some of the cars that might normally be in Quincy that night to Tri-City. That, he said, was one of the reasons MOWA was added the Memorial Day weekend schedule.

“We had been aware for a long time of the big show in Tri-City that night and felt this was the best way to go,” Walbring said.

One other change to the schedule involving Sept. 1 finds the sport mods and stock cars dropped from the schedule that night. The Boone Nationals begin the following night in northern Iowa.
