More good news — Bullring adds ALMS for 2013

Quincy Raceways has confirmed the Sunoco American Late Model Series will be a part of the 2013 schedule at the Bullring. The ALMS will be at 8000 Broadway in April and either late July or early August. The exact dates are still being negotiated, according to sources with knowledge of the discussions.

There is a good chance ALMS will be the long-term replacement for what the Deery Brothers Summer Series served when Quincy Raceways was affiliated with the IMCA for its late model division. The ALMS is a UMP-backed touring series that showcases drivers from the primarily Ohio, Michigan and Indiana areas. The tour’s trip through Quincy will likely be part of a three-race weekend that will include stops at other UMP tracks in Illinois.

Brian Ruhlman is the defending ALMS champion. Other familiar names who were part of the series this season include Rusty Schlenk, Brian Shirley, Matt Miller, Jason Feger, Mike Spatola and Jeep Van Wormer.
