Pick to click: Since some of the ALMS, MARS and Cornbelt cars will all be in town (weather permitting, of course), we’ll go with picking the top local finisher, who will be Jason Perry.
Best bet for a comeback: Justin Reed, who ran a rather pedestrian eighth on opening night.
That’s a fact, Jack: Brian Shirley, the 2012 UMP Summer Nationals champ who is expected to be in Quincy on Sunday, ran the fastest feature lap a year ago at the Bullring. Shirley’s 77.754 mph lap came on Sept. 16.
Pick to click: Steven DeLonjay looks primed to run off one of his patented win streaks.
Best bet for a comeback: Michael Long, who may have had the top car last Sunday. But we’ll never know because of that early exit from the feature.
That’s a fact, Jack: Long’s 68.626 mph qualifying time last weekend was faster than any 2012 modified time posted during qualifying.
Pick to click: Austen Becerra, who begins another long winning streak.
Best bet for a comeback: Seith Woodruff, who lost two wheels last Sunday, including one in the feature when he was in position to win or at the very least post a high finish.
That’s a fact, Jack: Craig Bangert’s feature win last week was his first since going back-to-back Aug. 14-21 late in the 2011 season.
