So how dominating of a season did Steven DeLonjay have in the modified series this season? You need look no further than the number of features won. DeLonjay picked off 12 checkered flags — the rest of the field won nine.
Yeah, it was pretty much a one-man show again in the mods, where DeLonjay has won three straight series titles — and three straight Stevie Dirt All-Dirt Team Driver of the Year awards. DeLonjay is the first driver to win three of these honors in succession. He joins Abe Huls in stock cars as the only drivers to win three overall.
In addition, DeLonjay has three first-row selections (2008-10) to give him six All-Dirt picks in as many years.
Dave Wietholder earned his second straight first-row selection and has five total honors. Only once (2009) was Wietholder not selected to the All-Dirt Team.
Shawn Deering was awarded with his initial first-row selection after back-to-back second-row picks in 2011-12.
Robbie Reed and Jake Griffin were second-row choices. Reed was named to the team for the first time since 2008. Griffin’s pick was his first ever.
