Delonjay and DeLonjay.

Those are the names atop the two all-time rankings for the Bullring’s premier modified series.

Quincy Raceways Hall of Famer Hank DeLonjay remains No. 1 on the 1988-2015 chart, while his son, Stevem is No. 1 for the UMP era (2009-15). Steven is also No. 2 on the all-time chart, but his dad does not have to worry about losing that No. 1 rating for at least 10 years based on our ranking formula (see below).

What I think is mighty interesting concerns the 1988-2015 rankings. Four of the top six drivers — Steven DeLonjay, Michael Long, Dave Wietholder and Shawn Deering — are all active today, which raises the question: Are we witnessing the golden age of the modifieds at 8000 Broadway?

I’d say yes.
